Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 13, 2026
FAM Central (the “Service”) is operated by The F.A.M. Project Inc. (“The FAM Project,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Wyoming corporation headquartered in Maricopa County, Arizona. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the FAM Central website (famcentral.com) and the FAM Central mobile app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
If you have any questions, contact us at hello@thefamproject.com.
1. What FAM Central Is
FAM Central is a family activity platform. It helps families discover deals, events, local services, and learning experiences; plan and record a shared family journey; and connect with participating businesses. Understanding that purpose helps explain the data we collect: most of it exists to recommend the right activities to your family and to keep a record of the memories you choose to save.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and/or phone number. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider (Clerk); if you sign in with a third-party account (such as Google or Apple), we receive basic profile information from that provider.
- Family profile information. You may add family members to your household — including names, ages or birthdates, and relationships. You control this information, and you are responsible for having the right to share it (see Section 7, Children’s Privacy).
- Content you create. Posts, photos, and other media in your family chronicle; scrapbook memories; reviews of businesses and experiences; saved deals, events, and experiences; family goals and preferences you record.
- Preferences and interests. Answers to onboarding or preference questions we use to tailor recommendations.
- Payment information. Subscription payments are processed by our payment processor (currently Stripe). We do not store your full card number; we receive limited billing details (such as subscription status, plan, and last four digits of the card) needed to manage your subscription.
- Communications. Messages you send us, support requests, and survey responses.
Information collected automatically
- Usage information. How you use the Service — pages and screens viewed, features used, items viewed or saved — collected through our own analytics pipeline and third-party analytics tools (Google Analytics on the website; PostHog in the mobile app).
- Device and log information. IP address, browser or device type, operating system, app version, and diagnostic and crash data (collected through Sentry).
- Location information. Approximate location (such as city or region) inferred from information you provide or, if you grant permission on your device, from device location. We use this to show deals, events, and service professionals near you. You can decline or revoke device-location permission at any time.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for details. We do not run advertising products, and our advertising-related cookie settings default to “denied.”
Information from partners
When you interact with third-party content on the Service — such as merchant deals, event listings, or local service professionals — we receive information from those partners about the content and, where applicable, your interactions with it (for example, confirmation that a connection request was delivered).
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including your account, family circle, and subscriptions;
- Personalize recommendations — matching deals, events, experiences, and content to your family’s interests, ages, and location is the core of the Service;
- Process payments and manage subscriptions and, where offered, referral rewards;
- Send service communications (account, billing, security, and feature notices) and, with your consent where required, marketing communications you can opt out of;
- Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
- Comply with legal obligations.
AI-assisted features. Some features use artificial-intelligence services (hosted on Amazon Web Services) to curate, rank, and enrich content — for example, suggesting family experiences or organizing catalog content. These systems process content and interest signals to make suggestions; we do not use them to make legal or similarly significant automated decisions about you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your personal information for third-party targeted advertising.
4. How We Share Information
We share personal information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. Companies that help us run the Service under contractual confidentiality obligations: authentication (Clerk), payment processing (currently Stripe), cloud hosting and infrastructure (Amazon Web Services), analytics (Google Analytics, PostHog), and error monitoring (Sentry).
- Content and offer partners. Our deals, events, travel, and local-services catalogs are powered by partners (including Access Development, event data providers, and Thumbtack). When you choose to redeem an offer or request a connection with a local service professional, we share the information needed to fulfill that request — for example, your name and contact details are shared with the matched professionals so they can respond to you. We share this only when you take the action that requires it.
- Your family circle. Content you post or save to shared family surfaces is visible to the members of your family circle. Family administrators can manage household membership.
- Businesses on the platform. If you interact with a participating business (for example, leaving a review or redeeming a campaign), that business sees the interaction consistent with the feature (a public review is public; redemption records identify the redemption).
- Legal and safety. When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, the public, or the Service.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Family content (posts, memories) is retained until you delete it or your account is deleted. You can request deletion at any time (Section 8).
6. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and database-level data isolation between accounts and families. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security; please use a strong, unique password.
7. Children’s Privacy
FAM Central accounts are for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Parents and legal guardians may add profile information about their children (such as names and ages) to their household to receive age-appropriate recommendations; by doing so, you represent that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information directly, contact us at hello@thefamproject.com and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and update. You can review and update account and family information in your account settings.
- Deletion. You can delete content you have created, and you can request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting hello@thefamproject.com.
- Marketing opt-out. You can opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in those emails.
- Location. You can revoke device-location permission in your device settings.
- Cookies and analytics. See the Cookie Policy for choices about cookies and analytics.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws — such as the right to know, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@thefamproject.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law.
9. International Users
The Service is operated from the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
